O restless waves,you toss about
as I stand upon the shore
waving like a nervous friend
whom of my friendship's unsure.
You bring me ocean treasures
of broken bits of shell
and smoothed out drift wood pieces
and think you're doing well.

But who are you trying to please
and why would I want these things?
Can't I want you for yourself-
not what your friendship brings?
o restless waves, be calmed
You have a true friend in me
and together with us, united
we can sail life's stormy seas.

i really like your poem some people think love needs "things", but all it really needs is the happiness it brings

I really can't stand it!! Just Kidding! I loved the poem! I love all of your work, I admire the way you incorporate your analogies into the piece and make it work. Absolutely Beautiful!! It is truly great to have such a friendship. True friendship is the only treasure need come from a relationship. This person is very lucky to have such a friend! Keep it up Euclid!
