I started this poem several months ago when i was feeling overwhelmed and haunted by typical teenage life.  I've finished it now and i hope you enjoy!  Also, my other name on Passion's is Heidi, so check out my other first poem, The Scent of Ashes.  Thanks!


I am the wind swept gull
Above a stormy sea
Angry water churns as i flee-
Away! Away from here
Do not come near
The tempest travels with me!

Refuge exists within
a tumultuous eye
In from the wind and salt i fly
Into this gentle place
of icy warmth and lethal grace

Below! Soaked canvas sparkles,
Trembling between gails
Trapped within wave and wind, ivory sails
With troubled mind, i collapse with ease
onto weathered wood, away from the seas

A dark figure above me coos
Then damp heat envelopes my grey soul
Though now safe and warm, the flight has taken its toll
I am greatful, yet yearn to be free
For i know what comes next-

The tempest travels with me!
