not heaven nor hell so...

This was written about someone who is dying. They have a serious illness and will most likely die. I don't know them, but I know what they are feeling. I just wanted them to know that there are people who will stick by them.

I know you’ve been hurt,
I know you feel pain,
But why can’t you see,
My intentions aren’t the same.

I’ll stay by your side,
Through the good and the bad,
I’ll wipe away your tears,
When you are feeling sad.

Don’t worry about the image,
It’s not what I’m about,
I don’t care what you look like,
In my mind there is no doubt.

That you are my angel,
The one that heaven sent,
The one to keep me safe and warm,
For you this job was meant.

It doesn’t matter if you’re broken,
I don’t care about the mess,
If people talk behind our backs,
We’ll close our ears, we’ll do our best.

I can’t promise you won’t feel pain,
But it won’t be ‘cause of me,
I’ll hold your hand throughout it all,
I’ll always hold a smile for you to see.

So let me in,
I won’t look away,
No matter how bad it gets,
Remember, I’m here to stay.

Beautifull poem Angel. Well done in capturing what its like trying to get someone to accept your prescence when they are afraid. I hope it all works out well and that you are all the better for it.

wonderfully done. i hope this person knows your sentiments as well. a truly fabulous tribute.
to me, the best feeling in the world is to be someone's hero like you are being for this person. you are their hope, their drive. you are all the goodness they see. and that's the best feeling. congratulations.
