When I Wake Up...

When i wake up in the morning, it's usually the end of a dream,
and the beginning of a new day.
One more chance to live life to its fullest.
One more chance to make my dreams come true.

Another outfit to wear, another meal to enjoy.
It can be a pain, but also a true blessing
to be able to wake up in the morning, and i am thankful.

But sometimes, its also a pain to wake up.
Sometimes it seems like it just doesnt pay to get out of bed.
But everything has a downside. It's to be expected.

But even though it doent seem like it, when i wake up, there I'am
Like one who has discovered the fountain of youth-
Renewed.

Like the dry earth, after a life-giving rainstorm-
Refreshed.

And like many who wake up from an inspiring dream, there i'am...

Stronger.

I think this is s great poem and you did a great job. I hope you read more of your poems and keep up the nice work.

very nice poem, you're turning out to be a very good poet. You took to this fairly quickly. Good luck at the Institute this fall.
