Picking up
Paper and quill
Yielding my emotions
To my hand's will
Burning up within
Feeling so afraid
Afraid of what the morrow may bring
And the choices that must be made

A dark well inside of me
In which I fall so deep
Secrets hidden in musty corners
From prying eyes to keep

Slowly lighting anger's flame
Kindled by my loss of control
It burns so bright within me
I try so hard not to let it show

This road that i have chosen
Is my path in life
Mostly I love each moment
But at times I war with strife
The perfect this, the perfect that
To some this is how it may seem
But they're not alwayz there
To see the nightmares I dream

Midnight has come to this house
And as the lantern is blown out
I lay aside my daily armour
And ask my angel what it's all about
She smiles in the dark and touches my face
Tells me she's not quite sure
As sleeping babes in other rooms
Dream of candy adventures

As I'm drifting off to sleep
The dragons in my head
Drive a broadsword through my mind
Causing the waking world to become as dead
Drifting in a fairytale
I am made to realize
The beauty of our daily life
Is in the beholders eyes

For sure I think this one would look great in the book!

Excellent poem Thomas, you outdid yourself once again.

Keep it up

Waves...amazing hey? Wind blowing over smoothe ocean water creates shear. The longer the wind blows, and the futher the fetch, the more energy gets transferred from the wind to the water. What started off as a breeze 1 000km away, ends up as a glass-faced barrel at some far off beach.

Beautiful poem Thomas.  I especially liked the last line.  I took it to heart.  This poem gave me a different perspective on day by day challenges in life.  Thanks

Love always,

"A dark well inside of me
In which I fall so deep
Secrets hidden in musty corners
From prying eyes to keep" -- I understand this so well, Thomas.  Deeply moving and powerful words here.  Very well written, I shall be looking for more!

Dragons in my head, I love that.  Everyone seems to always think that everyone else has it so easy, but then again, everyone goes about in the days armour as you say.  When the armour breaks down is when we see the real person.  loved it dude.
