A poisonous mixture of love and sorrow... I drink A dangerous concoction brewed by fate... I know My love for you held in this vial Heavenly VILE Sweet drink I drink to thee my friend Eventhough, of course, i know How this story ends Sweet taste at first of fresh-squeezed bliss Longing for the goodness, cause to take another sip But the taste turns soured sorrow When you kiss another's lip Spoiled, Rotten, gone to waste Ruined by my wanting's haste Pour down the drain, what love remains But don't misplace the vial Perhaps someday the time will come This bitter hurt may end I'll Drink once more if this be true- "Sweet love I'll find again" ~*~Linzi~*~ "Ignore reality; there's nothing you can do about it" ~ Natalie Imbruglia |

Got my vote. Started out a little reminiscent of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", then took a turn toward "the love that was once there" side. I loved it! Very well written. Thomas "I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss The Dance" -Garth Brooks- |

Thank you so much! To tell you the truth...the metaphor in the poem was actually inspired by Romeo and Juliet, but the meaning was taken from my own experience...we were reading the play in class when i wrote this, and i just loved it! Thanks again! |
