All I See

Slouching deeply into a transe,
my aching mind is still.
In this park, I find some peace
from my life until
I gaze across the swings and slide
and wish I hadn't seen
that child standing with a ball
and eyes so full of dreams.
Sad it seems, or just to me
that never can I see
a little boy or little girl
and not fear what will be.
My eyes set deep, my heart then bleeds
and tares their dreams apart
in my mind because I know
they can't see quite this far.
Inevitabilty yeilds for none.
I've lived it's loveless game.
All I see inside this child
is years more of the same.
Too much life to cloud my mind
with pity for the young.
He stands so small and belts aloud
the song I once had sung.

How I long still for the innocence of youth. When we were all carefree and oblivious to the truth. Life is a hard road we all must travel. I think if we could all get a little of that youthful innocence back, we would see things in a different light. Once again I stand in awe of your gift.

Oh, this poem is so sad. I know what it's like to feel for the things that we all know children will have to go through, but maybe they'll come through it better than we did... wonderful writing, my friend. < !signature-->

Jer, I remember us talking about this the other day.  You wrote this better than I could ever have thought possible.  I many times wish that I didn't know many of the things in life that I know now.  For as you've said in the past,"ignorance is bliss."
once again you've got my vote.

Another excellent poem Jeremy! Every new poem amazes me even more than the previous.

This poem is sad, but it made me realize, and I don't know how, if you stop dreaming, you're dead...but sometimes...you take that dream to far, and you can't face reality anymore, and this feeling I know oh so well.

Keep up the good stuff

Waves...amazing hey? Wind blowing over smoothe ocean water creates shear. The longer the wind blows, and the futher the fetch, the more energy gets transferred from the wind to the water. What started off as a breeze 1 000km away, ends up as a glass-faced barrel at some far off beach.

Excellent writing Jeremy!  You images were vivid as you sat on the bench and contemplated the innocense of childhood bliss. Beautifully written!

Jeremy, I loved this poem.  I reminds me of how much I miss being a little kid.  Life seemed alot easier back then and sometimes I would give anything to go back.  Keep up the good work, you got my vote.
