"Reaper" Why must mortality Have such finality Why must this place Be inhabited by such a race Why do we save and save Simply to be lowered into a grave Money does not save our lives The rich can still die by the simplest of knives Why do we cry such a terrible sound For soon enough we will be lowered to the ground When you breathe your last breath Will surely meet your life's death Emotions run wild Like the heart of a child Death brings overwhelming fears And when it comes for others it brings tears She was someone's mother He was someone's brother Aunts uncles nieces and nephews All brake down at the sad, sad news A father a daughter someone has died As if their eyes know the tears must be cried Eternal life no one finds It remains to be seen just in our minds And still the same news every year Death was and always will be here |

wow...... i liked this one a lot. It's true that death will always be here. Chaucer's Cantebury tales talks about this. I once wrote in a essay that TIME is DEATH's accomplice. I like the whole idea of that. anyway yea...nice one pal. Great read. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

"Money does not save our lives The rich can still die by the simplest of knives" I love that line! Death is something people brush off all the time. I think it's alot more important than that. Great poem. Jon "Your anger is a gift"-Rage Against The Machine |

A poem capturing the essence of death... i love it. It has been done before, but perhaps not so eloquently. I truly enjoyed this piece, although I disagree with your distaste for our "race." I think that nothing is more beautiful than the human race, and we deserve to consume all resources necessary in our quest for Utopia. Of course, just my opinion. ^_^ Great poem. |

i always find myself agreeing with allan... this poem really portrayed very good details about death im glad I read it ~JDR "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." -Oscar Wilde |

This is written so well, I like how it's done. Death can be hard to deal with, but it will always come. Great writing. "Disagreements stimulate thought, thought stimulates action, and action stimulates life." --Lakewalker http://www.thehungersite.com |

Thanx for the always honest opinions, and as for my 'distaste' for the human race that statement is slightly a skew, I cannot dettach myself from being human, I simply dispise certain aspects of the human mind, such as hate and envy...anyways thanx again for the replies. |
