The Road Less Traveled

In the middle of nowhere stands one single man;
Placing himself on the crossroads of the world.
Directions lead off to anywhere and everywhere;
The skies beam pale blue; the clouds beautifully swirled.

Pastures lie outwards, to his left and his right;
No life resides in these fields of afar.
Only the man, who now makes a decision;
Which road will mend his life gone a mar?

The road behind him, leads from whence he did come;
To go backwards is madness; he’s needed not there...
The road to the left passes little houses with yards,
Pretty wives and children, yet he has no one to share...

The road to the right holds a business and a profession,
An education and money; but he knows he’s too lazy...
The road in front of him leads off to infinity,
It’s the road less traveled, but seems much too easy...

The left he chooses not, alike for the right,
Behind remains pointless, similar to treason.
He looks ahead, yet fear will forever keep him in place;
Often such a road is less traveled...for a reason.

You haven't read Robert Frost?  (suprising)
This is very similar to his most famous work.
Well done.

Defintely Robert Frost-ish here, you sure you haven't had that poem implanting in your mind yet?  Very good thoughts here, I like it a lot!

Sure, somewhat frosty, agreed.
Well done.  I agree that the road less travelled can be very difficult, and often not the right decision.  Sometimes it is best not to change, to "stand still," but it seems so wrong.  Stepping slowly is the solution.
