My soul is empty
No tears to cry now
I never posessed it
But I lost it somehow

He entered so fast
And left the same way
No tears to cry now
My soul died today

I just loved to see him
Such a wonderful sight!
And now he's gone forever
My soul died tonight

Memories I still possess
But those, I know, will fade
And now, my soul is dead tonight
In a tomb I should be laid

I never got a hug from him
A kind look, or a kiss
But I've lost the illusion now
Just seeing him was bliss

My soul is empty
No tears to cry now
I never possessed it
But I lost it somehow

Have you ever heard someone say, "There's just too many pictures of things that have happened in my life!"...of course not...besides memories, pictures are all we have to keep the days of ou lives alive.  Memories are the pictures that we always have with us.  Even though, it was something that never became real, it meant something to you and thats all that matters.  Keep the pictures around.  I really like the way you repeated certain lines to create the meloncholy.  nice job.

Wow. I really like this poem.  It hits home really hard, ya know? cuz I think we all know what it's like to have something so beautiful for a short time and then have it be taken away.  You're really good! Keep writing.

Much love ~ Kris/Kandi :]

Dearest Lovebug, hold your head up high,
Please don't despair, don't sit and sigh!
And if heart's affections are truly stuck,
(Girls are often privy to such fine luck)
Though shared love you never possessed,
Cherish those memories with tenderness!
But a little advice I may now pass on,
(My constant input can be counted upon)
Aye, if this unnoticing fool is as he seems,
You're better off awakened from your dream!

Such sadness LoveBug..it is indeed hard to lose something, even if you never really had it..losing the dream can be very hard.  Excellent, soul filled piece my moderator friend!

That was beautiful. I know how much it hurts, I hope it gets better. I wanted to vote for this one but it's not flagged. I think it belongs in the book  . Great Job

My dearwst LoveBug~ I absolutely love this poem! It is sad, and I know how you feel, but keep your chin up, it will always work out. I love your work! It's fascinating. Love Always~*~Jessica~*~

Jessica,

very thought-provoking piece here...should we let go of the good times we had when a relationship fails?hmmm....

In MHO,dont let go....though the thought of the failed relationship may hurt, still you two had some good times together and these moments of bliss helped DEFINE who you are today...dont lose them as they serve as a bridge between our past selves and our present selves

hope i am making some sense...LOL

I love the repetitions.  It made the poem more powerfull.  thanks for sharing it.

Loosing someone is very hard to accept.  I just lost someone too.  Though I'm doing better now, I still hold on to the memories and to the thought that one day we'd be back together.  And that makes it harder for me to go thru a day.  Stay strong as I have.  Though times you'd feel week, like i did, don't do anything stupid.
good luck
