Big 2-0 is stalking near
Woe is me
       Who realizes too late
Harsh realization hits and hurts
Coasting through life
       A blind bat
Dreams unfulfilled
       My life portrait

Regrets for the man
       I could have been

i see your point here its not easy being a teen and even easier to make mistakes as one.

I can understand why you feel aprehension about growing up and regret about your teenage years but from what I hear, you have the best years of your life ahead of you. Anyway, you can't change the past 10 years even if you tried

How's it goin'?  I just turned 20 myself.  I do understand the anxt of an unfulfilled past, but I understand better that coming of age is a blessing.  I've actually been living as a adult since I was almost 18, so 20 isn't anything but a number to me.  I do feel your point though...good luck and take heed in the importance of priorities.

A few things~ 1. Don't listen to Jeremy! He's not 20, he just likes to pretend. j/k.   love ya Jeremy. 2. This is a poem of harsh reality, and it made me think of something I was once told and that is " years down the road, you'll look back and regret the stuff you didn't do more than the stuff you did do" so live your life to the fullest and do all that you have always wanted to. 3. Keep up the writing 4. congrats on the big 2-0!!   Love Always~*~Jessica~*~

My friend, you should never regret anything you've done. Whatever you've done, you did because you thought it was the right thing. And 20 isn't that old! You're still very young! I hope you'll stop by here sometimes, even if you aren't a teen!

I want to start off saying that your poem is really good. I also want to say that 20 isn't even that old. You still have restrictions... You can't legally get drunk yet... but we all do anyways!! So, think of it this way... the fun is just beginning... live life to the fullest and have NO regrets! Much luck and love... mysticalangel

Reflections(on my first few months as a 20yr)

realising there are no prominent labels on us twenty years olds

if being nineteen is a teen
and being twenty-one is an adult,
then what will you exactly call me?

but i count my blessings
im at such an unique age

still not too young to
live life wildly,
treading life dangerously on a tightrope,
relatively sheltered from this big fat cruel world

(hell i even noticed some freshly grown pimples the other day)

yet not too old to be secure
within my comfort zone,
having come to terms with my existence,
with years of embarrassing blunders behind me

having reached the big 2
all of life's wonders before me
i only hope i have the courage to bravely venture forward,
the serenity to deal calmly with all nasty obstacles life deals to me(and serve back steadily)
and the wisdom to remain true to myself

This was great. I surely do hope to see you in teens more often!
