As it dies we see it whither, As it sprouts we see its born. all the time we see this happen but is there time to mourn... For the rose we saw last winter sprouts again this spring, And though we watched it die we knew that it would bring... A rose that will come and go To keep the cycle alive. its sad to watch it whither but we knew it would revive. --JR This poem has special meaning to me because i won my highschool lit fest critics coice award for poetry my freshman year and it was the first time i realized i could write poetry. I hope you liked it. |

beautiful poem...I can see why you got such rave reviews in high school! I love the poems that show faith in better things to come. What better way to express this than with the life of a rose.
