Such a sneeky one you are, you suducer of the mind. You claimed my body and my soul, you made me only want you and noone or nothing else would do. You made me feel so giddy, so wonderful and brave, until I had to have you each and everyday. When I brought you to my lips I felt such sheer delight again and again I tasted you until I had to say goodnight. You came befor my husband, you came befor my kids.I tried so hard to stay away but,I had to let you in. You played with my mind and oh how I craved you.I thought of you every second of the day, you convinced me I could not live unless I had you in me. Such a sneeky one you are, but your such an ugly beast. You destroy every life you touch draining them of everything, leaving nothing in your wake only empty shells of people addicted to your love. I talk not of a person or any living thing. This suducer has a name we all know as ALCOHOL. Britt |

First, let me welcome you to Passions! Second, let me thank you for providing us a poem filled with a powerful message! An evil demon it can be. I've experienced the repercussions of excess and understand. Thank you, Christopher |

Welcome to Passions!! The end of this poem really says it all in that one word. How alcohol does rob, steal, and destroy. Thanks for sharing. Well written and a powerful message too!! |

This is a great poem, and I have to say, I diidn't catch the ending till the last minute. Very good writing. Also, thank you for your kind comments to my poem. Catalinamoon "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |

Britt...I didn't follow it either...until the end. I like that (as some of my poems will attest). Like alcohol, anything to excess will ensnare an addictive personality...some drink, some gamble, some do drugs....all self destructive behaviours. Nice work. Enjoyed it. Hardrock |

This one is really extremely good. I too have experienced the power this liquid has in some very close to me. And a horrible thing it is! Take care! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |
