When did No stop Being No When was it The start of something I speak these words Clearly... What is it that You hear? Please enlighten me I say No You question me Waiting for .. A new reply Selective hearing Wishful thinking No means No The End This just came to me after one too many times of someone not hearing me when I said NO |

D1, I think NO went out the door when "ladies & gentlemen" became a thing of the past. It left when men stopped walking up to your door when picking you up, and honking in the drive way instead. It disappeared when the values of yesteryear faded away. Is it right? Not to me. No, still means NO, and I teach my kids to so honor it. Neat piece. jwesley |

I could write a book on why No doesn't really mean No...but I'm here to read poetry, make friends, find enjoyment, get direction, trigger thinking....and your poetry does that for me. Thanks...Hardrock |

Wow great work. I can get someone in very much trouble because of that simple misunderstanding I said NO & he heard yes & now it haunts ME everyday & he gets to smile still (I'm confused) lol ![]() |

Great poem!! There are not to many of us gentelmen left. I guess it comes from your upbringing and your own self respect. To do unto others as you would have them do unto you. |

Well Deb, I think the only time no means no is when its said to me and I don't want it to be. Know what I mean? Anyway, good thoughts, and nice poem. "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |

I agree with Hardrock... there are a lot of instances when no means yes, but well... I get what you mean! I'm still young, but being a girl I understand all to well what you mean by No should mean No! And people should stilll bring their kids up that way. great poem! I too, know what you mean. Although I am a fond user of no when it means the opposite. Why is it that others can't tell the difference between a no no and a yes no? ![]() Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable.
