Stop! turn of my heart I should have done that from the start Stop! put on the breaks save the pain and the heart aches Flying so high is a mistake get back, Warning nothing to take tired, angry, hurt, alone friends, family, one man one bone Leave me be by the sea happy in the sun watching tv. |

Hmm... great poem... but if I am reading it correctly... should a person refrain from "flying high" - just so you don't get the pain, the heartaches, and all the other emotions you have explained in your poem? For after all, in the end, doesn't that make you the person you are? And we all learn don't we? Hey, your last verse appealed to me... Leave me be by the sea happy in the sun watching tv. What a lovely image that put in my mind. I love the sea And the sun on your back always makes you feel a little better |

I agree with Tara. Even if happiness brings pain, it's still worth it. Imagine you had never felt that happiness. It's all part of life. Imagine a life with no ups and no downs. You would never have written this poem then Oh, and don't put the brakes on your heart, you never know what you might miss. I loved the last bit too Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I envy those who can feel those ups and downs....those who live on the edge of emotions. Though I may write of them, I never really feel them....not like some of you do. I guess I live my life vicariously through all of you and your poetry. But one thing I do know: Get off that beach, pitch that TV into the ocean....and live. The boardwalk of life is just across the sand....and there is music there. Go listen. Good job, LiL. Hardrock |
