(I had to edit this so it was better understood)

Friendship Rejected
She said to me:

"I don’t need a friend, I need marriage,
I want a lover, companion, and more.
But all you offer is friendship,
And I’m tired of playing the whore.

You’re really not marriage material,
You’ve nothing to offer I need.
So just go away and leave me alone,
And quit sending me poems I don’t read.

What makes you think I would want you?
For you I’m just wasting my time.
I need to be finding a lover,
Not reading your damn silly rhyme.

So take your crap back to Dark Passions,
And write about "skies of blue",
I’m a woman on a mission to find true love,
And that mission doesn’t include you."

Across the gateway of my heart,
I wrote "No Thoroughfare!!"
But love came laughing by and
Cried "I enter everywhere!!!"

WOW!
If I read this
' kiss-off'
correctly, you
just pushed aside
a ' friend'.

You are looking for a
lover, companion and
marriage. Wise and
wonderful people have
found out that their mate
is their 'best friend'!

It is wonderful to be
friends first and have
it develope into just
the most precious
relationship.

Sorry for my 2-cents
worth...but friendship
is vital in any type
of relationship.

So I will just say...
'Scuse me please and sign off...
Good luck on your hunt,Hardrock.

To MagnoliaBlue....just to clarify, I wasn't sending this...this was the message I received.  I would never kiss-off anybody....but thanks for your comments. At least it made you think.  Hardrock

To DkW...your name is like a mantra:  Dark Kisses Within, Dark Kisses Within, Dark Kisses Within.....It's a uniquely beautiful name, phonetically pleasing to say, and it evoke images of beauty, sensuality and passion.  It beats the h*** out of repeating "Ohmmmmmm, Ohmmmmmmm, Ohmmmmmm" a hundred times.  Do I have to pay royalties on using it now.....LOL?   Hardrock

Hardrock, all I can say is ..stupid girl...If I had ever had a man writing beautiful poems to me, he would still be here with me. I'm sorry you were hurt so much.

Catalina....you misunderstand...She's not a stupid girl..quite the contrary, she's someone who knows what she wants and needs.  I was the one who got in her way along her journey....I presumed too much, assumed too much.  I have this urge sometimes to rush in, prop up and try to be "the Saviour" (another great poem here in Dark Passions I might add).  So....it was my own doing.
As for the hurt.....there is no hurting the Hardrock.  "I have my books, my poetry to protect me.....I'm shielded in my lonely room.  I touch no one, and no one touches me.  I am a rock.  I am an island.  And a rock feels no pain....and an island never crys."  (Simon and Garfunkle)  Thanks for all your concern....(secret just for your eyes: You are one of my favorites)  Hardrock

Excellent poem.  I know how this feels, they are the only ones missing out in this situation my friend... not you.  If they are not happy starting with a solid friendship, they will not be so forthcoming with a solid friendship during a relationship I find.  Dont give up, great job.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

I think this is really sad, as unrequited love always is. A great poem! BTW, I'm not sure I believe you can't be hurt.
