--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The epic tale of hell, as retold from my brain.
The pain still exists, feelings remain the same.
I thought that things would be different,
I thought I'd want to survive.
I long for a sense of security...
gaining hope is that on which I thrive.
Finding no acceptance,
cold faces and resentful stares.
All I see inside is weakness
as I give in to the hateful glares.
What have I done to deserve this?
Who have I betrayed?
Was I really so awful in the past
that I deserve to have my soul slain?
Take it away, I beg of thee.
It's far too much for me to bear.
I beg of you, take it from me,
do I not have love to share?
Have I anything to offer that which surrounds me?
It surrounds me like a gloved fist.
The only difference is that my covering
isn't able to come off.
No, mine stays.
It covers me and consumes me.
Maybe it fears letting me go...
can it survive on it's own strength?
Angrily,
it burns it's eyes into the silver wall.
Greedily,
it curls it's toes, wishing you to fall.
Longingly,
it waits for prey, to satisfy the taste.
Grip your seat and brace yourself
to see with what you're faced.
Step into those evil eyes
through which the darkness flows.
Launch yourself into that mind,
which no one else can know.
Find the taste in order that it may recieve a feast.
For what else is the goal if not
to satisfy the beast?
Yet again, it burns it's eyes into the silver wall.
You scream at it,
but still it does not hear you when you call.
The sweat pours down your back as you run
fleeing from the hole.
The pit of which will swallow you
and pluck you from your soul.
Look, I say.
Look once again, and tell me what you see.
Peer into that face of scorn and animosity.
Find the fear within the beast,
and then you'll hear it say,
"You, my love, are what I AM.
As well, you are my prey".
The terror fills up in your eyes
as you relieve the lie.
The beast that you've been peering at
is buried in your mind.
The evil that the beast portrays
is eating at your soul.
"We are the beast" it says at last.
"Your life has filled my hole"
