There comes a final hush from the days crazy rush this deafening silence falls amongst these hardened walls The day is done I guess? I suppose it gave it's best for others they seem content Not me, I am not yet spent! My world comes alive at night colors of rainbows in my sight soon they vividly dance in my head reflections of what the day has said The last words when you fled before going to your steel bed boring as they may you had your final say I was left without a flame As usual, I was to blame fairies dance around in my eyes they abound I am not ready you see to go to that dream fantasy I am still full of fire steaming words of desire they leap off of my heart my world they impart unto the page they flow my night is now aglow! Alone with the words I write why can't they make me feel happy and free from fright? warmth is what I crave while awake tonight I am still stirring at this late hour maybe I need a cold shower! the ones I truly want are in bed maybe I should be there instead? Why can't I go to sleep rest in slumber so deep I feel the restless stir coming on I think it just might last til the dawn! |

I'm with Kethry on this one, and I'll add that isn't it strange how you can handle 'things' during the sunlight hours but at night, that is when the heart and soul yearn, dream and fantasize often leaving you sleepless...
