He lives in a world of fraud and lies,
A dark entity beginning his own demise,
To live that way is something the good despise,
And no one will want to comfort him when all alone he cries.

Every thought selfish, evil and horror,
Every indrawn breath wracked with blood lust pain,
His kindred spirit - the Devil himself!
Surely such a creature is insane?

He knows no joy,
Wouldn't identify even if he saw it,
Laughter a forgotten memory,
His looks belie his spirit.

No inner peace, nor inner beauty,
No thoughtfulness nor magic,
Simply a shell of a human being,
It is almost quite tragic.

Scoffs at what he doesn't know,
Slashes at what he doesn't believe in,
Only his thoughts and beliefs are right,
What others say ain't worth believing.

God himself has turned away,
He only has time for those who care,
For those who live in his name,
Not those life traveller's ill prepared.

Such a waste,
Such a barren lifeless realm,
No happiness, no hope, no faith,
The devil himself at the helm.

I am big enough to recognise such fate,
And I pray he finds his heart again,
So he may know peace and happiness,
And one day be called 'friend' again....

Isis...Sometimes your writings are so deep that my shallow mind can't grasp them, but I enjoyed this very much.  As I read it, several people I know came to mind.  Very good read.  Hardrock

We all deserve the title of 'true friend' not just mere acquaintance....

Very nicely done, enjoyable,
I found it easy to identify with your
Subject in the poem, I know many of those type people.
Enjoyed the presentation, center worked well,
Especially with the line lengths you used.
The rhyme flowed well.

such a sad life... no happiness, no hope, no faith... *sigh* i hope he can find these things as they are most important.

If you can feel that staying human is worthwhile, even when it can't have any result whatever, you've beaten them.

Like those before me.. I can recognize acquaintances in this piece. How unfortunate we don't see this until AFTER we know them!  ! This was a wonderful thought-provoking piece. Thank you for sharing it.
