(inspired the works of Jan and Eva Svankmajer) She ferments Like blackened thighs, Housing treasures Hidden beyond bruised chest. She seeks god under her dress; his full body contraceptive worn vacant and proud. Her fingers twist the key It snaps quickly, spitting ghastly venom, though quickly deflates - no real harm done cleaned up quickly, like the dishes some sparkling others broken just yesterday remains buried in the weeds of memory-but we wouldn't venture there, just yet, too much regret. Back to that inner doorway, fingers peel back the mouth a supple orange (golden fruit), and guide the dancers deep within she evaporates under due force, holding the needle stabbing through to angelic pleasure. "an afixiation a fix on anything the line of life the limb of a tree the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women". Patti Smith |

Hi Brian, good to see you again! This poem makes me feel a little chill up my spine, as your poems often do. You boldly go to those kind of scary areas. Awesome, as always. Sandra Dream as if you'll live forever; Live as if you'll die today. — James Dean |

Brian, have you been studying poetry or does this just come naturally! This is great.... "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." Winnie the Pooh |

Sandra, thanks for wonderful comments, for me as a tourist of life I am drawn to even the darker corners. Kathleen, I am blushing here, your words are doing wonders for my ego. I am just learning as I go along, playing by feel, so far I have not fallen on my face at least not in public. Isis, thank you. Dawn, thank you, I shall where my poetic muse and my angelic muse take me, so tell me where to now? Sheila, thank you. jann, I am gald that you found the beauty in this poem, I know it is hidden and takes a keen eye. Thank you for reading and replying. "In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor" Joy division |
