Heart Broke the Mind -I- The cold moon glowers solemnly And the wind bites the traveler He who walks among the shadow Looking for the face of Death. -II- A leather wrapped book in hand His feet are bare and bleeding No water has he to quench His thirsty throat, cloudy mind. -III- The Book he holds close to heart As once he did the woman And he can not stop the tear From falling past his lip. -IV- At last he emerges from the shadow To be seen by the full face of the moon And in silver glow he watches His hands ready, his secret revealed. -V- The traveler who walked through the night Now moves as quick as the wind Approaching the man who lies beneath the woman A smile on his indecent face. -VI- With a cry as low as thunder And a tear that falls like rain The traveler spears the heart Of the one who stole his own. -VII- Justice may come to those who wait But waiting this man could not And with the very same spear, he drove it Into his heart, before the woman. -VIII- Leaving the book by her feet The book of love he wrote And with his dying breath he begged her To remember her unholy sins. Definitely an awesome write... I am completely unable myself to write narratives in poetry...always envy those who can. K [This message has been edited by Severn (edited 12-04-2000).] |
