Apprehensive of what he'll face,
he opens that door
the door to his heart
that has been closed for so long
the door that she now knocks at
wanting to be let in

there are all the old memories
that he doesn't want to face
all the old loves that
just seem out of place
all the old feelings that he never put away
all of the old words that he never got to say

he wonders why she wants to come in here
to see the remnants of his love
she doesn't want to see that
she wants to see his heart
she knows that he has one
she knows that he can love her
as she loves him

the door opens. . .

"All the old loves
that just seem out of place."
Sven really fascinating those six lines in the middle of this poem..
Sometimes we have to clean and rearrange our hearts in preparation for a new relationship or new love...yes...James
