Fate has played a trick on us, She dealt us a very cruel blow, To be touched by another, To feel the happiness we will never know. We had chances, they were torn asunder, Ripped to shreds as fate laughed her bitter cackle, She showed us all that could be, And branded us like cattle. Branded us as fools, For whatever reasons we cannot be, She tempts us with talisman and reminders, Almost everywhere there is a reminder we see. Why pick on us? What did we do to deserve this? Are we only ever going to have dreams? Will we ever know such bliss? Somedays all seems sweet, The world a beautiful place, But the next day is full of reminders again, That wipe the smiles right from our face. Perhaps we lack the courage, To really try and see these possibilities through? Perhaps all we are entitled to are glimpses, Perhaps there really is nothing we can do? Fate played with our young hearts, Played with our adult ones too, She had her laughs at our expense, We were too foolish to see the truth. *I believe every time you put your words to paper, you change. Each feeling is set free, and you may follow.....* ~Isis~~Sovereign of the Spirit. |

Lots of perhaps. Lots of possibilities. Sometimes life can be very cruel but their are some things we can do to change are fate...we have control over certain decisions in our lives... sometimes we need to rearrange our lives admit we have made mistakes and make new decision...don't know why I am saying all this...just some things I recently experienced...James |

I guess I would like to add my 2 cents! haha. You've written a real thinker, here. True, fate can be cruel and unfair, but it can also bring you some of your greatest joys. Perhaps, when it interferes, you have obtained the lesser evil of what might have been? There are endless questions and possibilities, I suppose. I don't mean to ramble.. The poetry I enjoy most is that which makes me think.. I've not been disappointed here. Great write.Sheila |

I am a believer in Fate, and I believe that every thing happens for a reason, though those reasons I haven't quite figured out, though. I guess it is just the Trial of Life, the fit of the fittest, those of us who are made to live will continue doing so, no matter how much Fate beats us down. yes Isis, great poem to ponder about. Is it the courage that stops others from finding happiness once again? So many people give up on love, yet others dont. I say ..... *Keep taking those baby steps forward no matter how difficult it seems!* Soon you will love yourself enough so others can love you also. Fate.......an interesting thing to ponder. I don't recomend trying to control it though......Macbeth did and look what happened to him!  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them! |
