Friends Sharing Similar Darkness Friends sharing thoughts Of poetry from the heart Two worlds seemingly the same Yet very much apart Embarking upon a dream, Investment in a lifetime They thought they had gained The realm they now reside in One darkened and in vain Staying for good reasons Only they can understand There empathy for others Can be seen from far off lands But to share with the one they love Will just not happen on any day Maintaining a meager existence On crumbs dropped by mad men Learning how to protect The very essence of their being Locking soul up tight Until danger goes away Knowing there is hope just beyond The next corner, or mountain over there They cautiously stay Having more then just themselves Invested in this blackened union Keeping faith close to their hearts Protecting there loved ones during Stormy nights and darkened days These friends know in their hearts The day of birth into the world Lit by loves powerful glow Is coming, its coming, we know And upon that day we’ll sing Never to look back again For are fight through the darkness Shall make the walk in the light That much more precious One not taken in vain Friends sharing similar darkness But knowing in their hearts That the day of reckoning is coming It’s a matter of faith That leads them through Knowing loves sweet embrace Will be part of their world too BY, Cerenity I wrote this for someone special, she knows who she is. I read her poetry and found out how much we had in common. My heart goes out to her, I understand her world and I believe there will be a time that the both of us will walk in the light that love gives off. I am here if you need me, just a few clicks away. Hi Click,Isis,Sandra Thanks so much for your wonderful replys to this poem, some times I wonder if I am not the mad person for staying in a relationship that has gone so very wrong, but then I hear of others that to live similar lives and thier reasons for doing so and then I know its just a matter of time before I will find that in which I dream of to be loved, some times the road to happiness is rough and painful and even very long but in the end, no one can say I did not try or that there was other choises, not that I have to prove to anyone my actions, but there is so very much more in volved than just me! and I feel for all who go through as I and pray for the very best for them, thanks again. Cerenity, like you said earlier, you do what you feel is right. You have to try for yourself, to know in your heart, you gave it your all, and just didn't throw in the towel like so many do so quickly these days. You have various reasons, others may not understand, that is their problem, you owe no explanations, in the end you do what you want and HAVE to do. As you said that way you know heart and soul your really did try and try again. It is so hard for sometimes most others don't understand why you are still there, and perhaps they lose sympathy and understanding by saying 'Well what are you still doing there?' but you can only move on when it is right for you, when you know there will be no regrets further down the road.
