Remembering the night we danced,
the sweet melody in the background,
notes scattered on the wind.

That's how it became our song.

Thinking we would dance a lifetime,
young hearts too naive,
eyes blinded by love's glow.

That's why we loved our song.

Disbelieving it could all be over,
overflowing tears too numerous to count,
broken heart tormented by the sound.

That's when I hated our song.

Hearing coincidentally on my wedding day,
a smile across my lips as I wed another,
a memory never forgotten.

That's when I said goodbye to our song.

Nicely written, bamagirl...you have a good grasp on reality.

Thanks!  Probably more so in my writing than in my everyday life.  )
