Into the lonely night I sit
Watching the stars from above
Making a simple wish
That soon I'll find true love
Tears roll down my cheek
For I know it will never be
I have too many scars
My past will never set me free

As sure as the stars do shine
Upon them I wish for a heart

Look at it this way...once the wound heals, we find it was something we really didn't need anyway. We always have the scar (memory) but the sore is gone, and we enjoy ourselves again, eventually.
