I swore he was superman, my private man of steel. Now I find him nothing but Lex Luther, he can't feel. I endowed him with powers that any man could need, Bullet proof, yet tender love would never let me bleed. I saw him fly past sadness and over broken hearts. But now he's just gone crazy he split my world apart. Superman, so it appears has feet and heart of stone. No flying high for this man he'll end up all alone. And what of faithful Lois? she's off to search for gold. It shines a little brighter, and doesn't feel so cold. |

Great poem. I enjoyed this piece. Ronil (The sweet sound of summer sends serenity through my soul searching for that evermore solitude.) |

i have just started to read poetry in the last month or so & i would like to say i enjoyed this one . i am learning that most poetry seems to come from "inside" and ones own experiences with life and emotions , is this one from your own "life"?.. once again thanks... A smile a day helps you work , rest & play. |

Isn't it a shame when we put our all into a relationship, then they turn out to be so different to what we first thought. This was nicely done, catalinamoon. Dee I wish you every happiness and pray you'll always have the best of the good things in life. a brand |

This speaks to me of pain, disapointment, and betrayal. As Dee says, nicely done! "The heart and soul have no illusion of boundries when friendship is the quest" ~ My Angel. |

Hi, wanted to thank you all. Xeonox, glad you liked this. Mick, yes it is someone I know, and he has proven to be no superman Dee, I know you undertand Eagle, I think you are having some sad times too, hope they are better soon. This just came to me yesterday, as I was listening to the song Kryptonite, by Three Doors Down. I always sang this one to myself, before our meeting, thinking he was like a superman to me. HA and HA again. there is some special fondness for this one for me, not sure why.. Thanks again Sandra |

nononononono!!! Don't pick on Superman!!! Actually, no Superman (as you said) if he can't fly. This is creatively done lady - can feel the pain, but also see the "moving on" in the heavy feelings intermixed with light words. All in all - very impressed... (even if you are picking on Superman...) Peace - C [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 10-27-2000).] |

They seem like Superman or some other powerful, wonderful, helpful man, then they inevitably fall back to Earth mere mortals... Glad to see Lois recognises this gut wrenching scenario and is moving on in search of a down to Earth man like Clark Kent. *hugs* Isis *I believe every time you put your words to paper, you change. Hey Sandra! This is so great, I loved the ending so much! You need Clark, he's the real man!!! Take Care! "Most girls want a man with the mean green Don't wanna dance if he can't be Everything that I dream up A man that understands real love" |
