We sat on the steps
Warm sun
Beating down.

Not a word was spoken
You just put your hand
In mine.

Your tears washed away
The dirt on my palm
Your lips brushed
The beating vein.

You put my hand
Down.

And walked away.

So very sad, but wonderfully written.

Tara...you do so well with these type poems.  You say so much without saying much.  Excellent.  Hardrock

Great poem, so short and the feeling of sadness is so sharp...
Wonderfully written, take care!

Tara,

no words indeed..for a long time.

this one is blunt, and hurtful, but evocative and powerful.

its a poem of endings, i think.

thanks for returning

Tara, this is very meaningful to me, and I'm sorry if you have been going through a goodbye like this. Very strong poem.
