In an upside-down garden

The package said to just take one,
but instead I just took three.
I didn't care much for the ride,
I just wanted to escape me.
Escape the problems that I faced,
oh the joy of life.
I couldn't deal with the pain,
all the turmoil and strife.
Oh so sad, they all say,
for someone so young to die.
And I guess the only known reason,
will remain between you and I.

Hey Allysa...

you've written a lot of pain into this one. Very sad indeed.

It seems to infer suicidal tendencies - if not, then I apologize. Just to let you know though, we have to monitor the poems here to make sure they follow our guidelines, which state that posting poems on suicide isn't allowed.

If you want to talk at all about this, feel free to email me.

Allysa~
Escaping this dream isnt reality. I really with it was cause I would like to escape it myself. But not on these terms. I want to die happy and try to at least make the best of what I have left on this planet. Cause for we know we can die any day. If you want to talk to me email me. Ok???

Okay, for future referances, in case anyone gets worried, not all of my poems are about me. Some of them are about me, but mostly the broken hearted ones. This one is about a part of me, and a part of my friends.

Citzen1: thanks much for replying.

Erin: I want to die happy to, but it's being alone that kills me.

Carolinadreams: it's nice to know im loved.

Allysa,

Being a paramedic, I'm the one usually trying to prevent these pills from absorbing into your system    However, I wonder just how many of "these bottles" I might have laying around for this very same use.  Great work...MORE!

This is a great poem!  It really hits home with the way people often feel in problems.  It's often quite a bit different when you experience the problem yourself!  But I just hope that you one day see yourself find a better way...

"that's the sound of a bottle when it's hollow
swallow 'em all, wallow and drown in your sorrow.
and tomorrow, you're probably gonna wanna do it again."

this reminds me of a few i've written. well expressed thoughts, well penned. i live this.

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?"

Allysa...I understand perfectly what you are writing about here.  As for having suicidal ideation or tendencies...I too write about things from which I am actually removed.  The poem itself is well written, touches on a common theme and has, obviously, reached many people.  Well done.  Hardrock
