Perception transmutes Subtle gray to Violent Red Shades of Red Retreating within the barriers of my Mind Light is eclipsed by Shades of My Anger Festering Fury builds Withdrawing from the world Shunning My Surrounding Awaiting an Appointed hour, Retribution will be strewn with swift coldness blood seething through my veins Sweetly Anticipating the day of Retribution Shades of My Anger increase Consuming every waking thought The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." --Ralph Waldo Emerson |

I understand this poem, as you describe those angry feelings well. I know for a fact that anger isolates and ends up hurting ourself more than the source of our angry. It is lonely in the shade. |
