Forever at rest
Subdued at my best?

Any heat in the night
Will be put to flight

Saved for another day
Another saved ray

Of hope
Dashed
My world
Smashed

Why I ask?
And yet I bask

In this pain
Am I insane?

Why do I stay
I must pay?

For my commitment's rent
But I am totally spent

Where shall I go from here?
I know.....

I will go to bed!

And sleep for a thousand years.........

Wonderful ending. I just loved the whole poem.

I liked this!!

This has nothing to do with it but I will still say whats on my mind. (Thats if you dont mind). But I wouldnt want to sleep for a thousand years. Maybe just 5 years. So that way I wont be stuck so far in the future with everything.

Lol this was great. I agree with erin, it would suck to wake up a thousand years later. well maybe not, maybe people wouldn't inhibit the earth anymore & u could live in peace lol anyway i really like the poem

I did like the way you finished this off at the end...and that would probably be a record...to sleep for a thousand years...I don't think I could manage that...but perhaps I could sleep for a thousand seconds...lets see how many days would that be...not that good with math...James
