ONE HARSH WORD:

Gone is the light and gone is my day
Taking from me forever this day
My feelings of love, peace disturbed
Forever destroyed by one harsh word.

Ouch, I feel that pain. Great poem. So short, but so full of misery.

Sylvia, I feel the hurt here. I was just thinking yesterday how dependent I am emotionally, on the whim of another, and how his few words, or lack of words, can make such a difference in the day, the mood, the heart. It's so unfair. Take care.

Exactly, depending on what is said and when it can crush your world, whether meant to or not. I wish and wish that people would be more attuned and considerate of other's emotions. I wrote a poem like this month's ago, something like 5 little words.
Sorry someone was so crappy towards you, hope today is brighter for you..

All it takes is that one harsh word to destroy something you thought you had. I have had this happen to me. Over something stupid my world crashed making me feel as if I was the smallest thing ever created. But times have changed and I am no longer feeling like that. Thank you for sharing this.
