Vampire of the night 09-18-00

Walking the moors at night,
As he has done for the past fortnight,
Jander, Vampire of the mist and night,
Searches with his keen eyesight,
For his dinner this night.

Off in the distance shines a shimmer,
Like gold under the sun at high noon,
Knowing it was true that his meal was soon,
Changing his form on the moors,
To a wolf that can kill more.

Howling at the hunt,
Howling at the night,
Knowing that they can hear his hunger on this night,
With the taste of blood which is great,
Running towards their fear with all his might.

Around the fire on the moors under the night,
Three men gather singing songs about warriors of old and days filled with treasures of gold,
Under the night around the campfire light that is consuming the night,
These men three stare off singing under the night.

A sound comes around, louder and still bound,
Chilling the night as the howling sounds under the moonlight,
Fearing the night and those who command its might,
Armed with swords and torches of light,
To defend against what evil might be under the night.

Approaching the light and the men armed with might,
Jander in his form howled at the night,
Hoping that one will come out into the night,
So that he could sank his jaws into the unlucky fool,
While the others coward around the light.

The men talk about what’s beyond their sight,
‘Wolf it sounds like and hungry too wandering around the moors alone,’
‘Beldar, your brave and strong, go have a look with your light and see if there is anything near the
campsite,’
Agreed to go out to search the moors under the moonlight,
Beldar brave and true walked unknowing to his doom.

Jander watching the fool wandering around,
While he waits before leaping around,
Growing closer the fools feels safer,
With him near and Janders hunger growing stronger,
He leaped out of the night onto the man’s throat with all his might so no sound leaps out into the
night.

Waiting patiently the men relax,
While Beldar the fool walks around alone in the night,
Thinking that they was safe under the night,
Singing of the times to help pass the time till dawn shows,
Warriors of old t hat hunt down creatures that are cold.

Time passing and no light shined where he was thought,
Beginning to worry that he may have got lost in the fight,
That one of them should wander back into the night,
Grabbing a torch Gandalf, wizard who killed a dragon with little might,
Set off to search for the fool who was thought to have a light.

Feeding his lust upon the blood of the dead,
Ripping the throat out so more blood could flow out,
Regaining his strength from the blood of the fallen knight,
So he can finish the fight that has brought him into the night,
Finishing his meal but the hunger grows still.

Feeling a power growing near,
Looking around to see if his next meal was around,
Seeing a man who’s old and blood would taste stale,
Deciding to kill this weak fool and savor the taste of the other fool,
Mighty Jander disappears as Gandalf grows near.

Changing his form from wolf to a gas form,
To engulf and destroy this man who’s a fool if he shows himself in the night with a light,
In this gas form Janders like the mist heads over and surrounds the ground,
As that fool heads for a quick death unlike that will happen to the rest,
Under his feet Jander rises up to the old man’s head where he takes his breath.

Changing into his true form Jander the vampire of the mist walks over towards the light,
Watching the last man with his eyesight,
Thinking of what joys will befall this fool,
Broken neck, or perhaps a mindless trick,
After I take his blood to satisfy this hunger that grows strong.

Walking near the edge of the light,
The man was quick to see me and what I meant,
Grabbing his blade so that he could slay me,
I moved quicker then an eye could see, as I broke his arm and blade,
Gasping in pain he cried for mercy to his God that didn’t show mercy.

Picking him up off his feet as someone might do like a coin off the street,
I brought him closer as my fangs grew shaper,
Biting into his neck and drinking blood like one would wine,
But leaving him some to keep him alive,
So he might see what I horrific things I would do before I went on my way looking to start this all
over again.

My mind is gone,
While alone with no soul,
But I shall continue to grow.
