Orison Keep her through all vicissitudes of life, And let her know that peace which after strife Calms the spirit, and helps to smooth away All furrows from a brow, which toilsome day Has creased with ceaseless pain. And let Desire In attainment rest. Cool for her the fire That all unquenched has burned her tired soul, And let her know contentment that her goal Has been achieved. Grant that her work of years Though but commenced, be free from pressing fears. A heart's serenity through night and day... All these I ask for her throughout Life's way. And give to me the inward power to know The reason why such things must needs be so... These answered prayers may only place her far Beyond my reach as some dim, distant star. Yet when I stand alone in darkness clad, Give me the strength to say... That I am glad! |

Rex, couldn't resist a re-visit of this, my book is on loan. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |
