~DAMN THESE WALLS~ Damn these walls that surround me that protects me from the pain my heart built them many years ago and now I am the only one to blame Damn the doors that refuse to open for me, there is no light dreams and hopes that I once lived for have now faded out of sight Damn this regret that haunts me reminding me of what could have been days pass by mournfully for, love before me is no longer seen Damn the darkness that closes in on me it's coldness only brings my fears to life my spirit no longer dances, the death of my soul is imminent battles wage within, filled with endless strife Memories of a past better to be forgotten still linger for, I've been the victim for so long damn these walls, I am my own worst enemy, my own captor, violins play in sorrowful melody in my ears, this is my jaded lullaby, this is my bitter song *By Melissa Honeybee* < !signature--> The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams [This message has been edited by Melissa Honeybee (edited 09-02-2000).] |

Suggestion: Buy some dynamite. BLOW WALLS UP! Sorry, it’s 3am, I’m buzzing around like a fly on Prozac… “Damn the doors that refuse to open for me, there is no light dreams and hopes that I once lived for have now faded out of sight” My accelerated, drug induced brain says I like these the best. It says its true and we understand it. Brain also says it’s sorry you are sad. ): Oh yeah, and lalablahbana Yummy! MUHAHAHA, POST 300! --- Spreading insanity, one post at a time “Writing about darkness comes easily for me. I just close my eyes and write what I |

Hmmm...sometimes we convince ourselve taht walls are the best thing to have...it makes us a "mystery" or "unreachable." But, when those walls are true and steadfast as yours are, its sad. Your poetry is so sad and yet it reaches out to someone...makes them want to help and be your shoulder or your one-man demolition team. Very nice writing here, Melissa. Don't care what people say Just follow your own way Don't give up and use the chance To return to innocence. -Enigma |

Dear Melissa The time has come to destroy those walls; give someone close to you half a chance and they can just melt them away. The pain is so evident here. *hugs* Allow someone to gently rid you of these walls, for though they seem to be protecting you, they are in fact making it hurt more. All the best and a wonderful poem btw. God bless Sylvia |

Your poem makes me realize I am not alone within when it comes to self-built walls!! The pain and the memories can be so haunting!! I agree with what Sylvia said...it's true but difficult to do!!
