If I had the power I would step outside of my skin.
Turning, I would look at my own face,
my own eyes,
and really study the person in front of me.

What would I see?
Would I see someone familiar?
or someone who was a stranger to me?

Id touch her cheek,
perhaps a tear had fallen...
brushing the skin gently,
hoping that it would spark SOME remembrance.

Id take her hand,
asking her to please answer the questions I had..
to tell me all about herself..

so that I knew,
so that I could have a sense of who she was..

of who I am...

then we would laugh,
and I would hold her,
before melting once more back into her...

But forever being one with her...
my reflection,
my body,

my self.
