We were all there playing
A merry-go-round of fleece and denim
Flickering colour, red-blue-red-blue
And curly locks dressed in ribbons
That flowed on the wind in a maypole dance
Our laughter ran circles,Ring-Around-The-Roses
Come play with us, come share our joy
Those shadows you hide in can be bitter cold
Young boy, come share our dreamtime summer
But you are so shy, hidden behind that barren tree
Without it's leaves and robbed of it's fruit
We have an apple for you boy, sweet scented bribery
We'll feed you childhood pleasures
There is nothing for you to fear here
No nightmares will steal your peace
You're in my dreams now, safe and free
Take my hand boy, follow me
The dawn is coming soon, time for me to wake
And leave this playland of spirit and hope
But tomorrow when I slumber deep
I'll be looking for you there again my friend!

**inspired by a conversation I had with "Someone" who didnt keep their dreamtime play date! All in good humour**

whatcha doing in this darkness baby
when you know love will set you free?
will you stay in the sea forever
Drowning there for all eternity? ~Live

Maureen, thank you! Looks like a few people have missed my dreamtime playdates! Maybe i will have to stop inviting them into my dreams and just invite them into my reality.
bring your skipping rope, bet you could come up with some real clever "jump rope songs"!

I was in slumber of cobwebs
I longed to be free of these ties
this vast screen to speak instead out typing.
There was angel dust strangling my eyes
I could not move, I was afraid and entranced by the security of my tree, but I promise as you lay down to sleep tonight safe a place in your dream world for me.

I think that this person was delayed due to traffic, some sleep refused to jump the fence and were on strike blocking the road. A really beautiful scene, I bet that person is really sad and regretful for what they missed. Wonderful poem.

Games with rules,
Invitations too quickly made,
Guests turn fools,
Fear binding,
Behind the tree he stayed
Not minding,
Not before,
In her light dreams has he played
Never sure,
If waking
Would find him much too afraid,
And shaking,
Dreams for reality trade.
