Somewhere in an E.R. In the emergency room She starts to assume It’ll be okay They can’t take her Sam away If only she had known How weak his heart had grown She starts to realize That this is his demise The fact she has to face No longer they will embrace A doctor walks through the door She can’t take it anymore She starts crying She knows her Sam is dying All the years they shared No pain can be compared The kids she has to call Five of them in all She’s brought to his hospital bed She kisses him on the forehead She says her last good-byes Then her Sam dies Some explanation...I work at a hospital and a woman asked me if she could use the phone. She made her call to work to say she wouldn't be in the following day and it had hit her that her husband wasn't going to make it through his heart attack. |

A good poem about some of the sad things that happen everyday in the world. |
