I look at myself, not my lips or my eyes, but that disgusting mass that some might call my thighs. I look at myself, not my long flowing hair, but that inch I can pinch in my side thats still there. I look at myself. What a digusting pig! He was just being nice when he called me a twig. I look at myself, wondering if they know that right after each meal to the bathroom I go. I looks at myself and ignoring the sounds of my insides churning, I think "Just ten more pounds." |

BreyerRose, what a lovely name, first of all. And this poem, such a hard thing that all women go through, in that no one is ever happy with their body. And the openness about the bulimia is very comendable. Take care, and keep posting your poems, I like your writing style.. catalinamoon Words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think. Breyer Rose, there were strong images in the poem. I can't say I liked it but I certanily related to it. Well Done Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |
