You stare at me with bourbon eyes Through sixty years of dust I watch you from the shadows With a secret silent lust And I hear the vague rememberings Of those you didn't know Who never quite remember Where you said you had to go You hold your endless strand of pearls Just by the gilded frame Though I've always loved your beauty I will never know your name Sing while you may -The Prophet Q'spel Your pain is for you alone, As it is, As it was, As it will be forever, Amen -The Prophet Q'spel |
