And You Were There

I remember when the tears first flowed
A drip, then a trickle and then steady stream
As thoughts of bereavement had surfaced, the hurt
And you then became my figment, a dream.

And You were there with a glowing, a warmth
Holding me, as I grasped each sweet word
Feeding me, drying up every last drop
Comfort in poetry, each swallow, I heard.

I remember the trials, the anguish, the pain
Too many, though really they add up, just two
The loss of my loved one, my father, the first
And the loss of another loved one, coming due.

And You were there, another one now
To cherish my feelings, bring out my desires
Deeper and deeper emotions flowed hard
No one has yet, to put out these, my fires.

I remember the hurts and the times, I now smile
That many ~~soft kisses could ease me, my mind
Words soft, endearing, "kiss touches", I named
I loved every moment, in delight, eyes did find.

And You were there, my champion, my knight
In armour of strength, uplifting to me
Carried me many a night into dreams
And sometimes we floated off into the sea.

I remember Your voice, each sound, that I felt
Whenever your whispers came drifting my way
Vibrations, the tingling, the rhythms, my heart
Would open and spill out, to love you each day.

And You were forever, in eyes of mine, mine
No matter, the moment in light or of dark
Am touched by the thoughts that electrify now
Like a candle flamed out, I am singed by your spark.

I remember You now,  will each day as it comes
As evolving, takes hold, like a butterfly, I
Released from cocoon, not an easy tour, yet
Come each morn, with wet wings, I first flutter, then fly.
Maureen

thank you Spitfire...we have  one of those triumphs *s

If you read me..more than half of my poetry seems to be like this...I am what many would call hypersensitive..and very expressive so my  heart and feelings do tend to show in everything I say and do.

Maureen, I think it is ok to show your sensitive side in poetry. Continue to express what is on your mind and in your heart, you are going so beautifully so far. A tender, beautiful and sad poem. wonderfully written.

Maureen, to me poetry is all about being able to express your feelings, whatever they may be. You have done this here and done it so very well.

This is a beautiful poem. It carried so much emotion. I loved reading it, and I felt the comfort you were trying to express to the one you were thinking of.

thank you both..I have to tell you that almost all my poems were written to internet friends or inspired by their words and support..don't ever let  someone tell you that real love can't happen on the net..and I mean the "forever" loves of friendship ..I have over 400 poems to prove it and bit by bit I will expose you to them

Maureen,
You're absolutely right about the internet, love certainly does happen and jeez Kathleen, why don't you just tell the world. It affects a person and then you write about it, it leaves joy and sometimes sadness. I love reading your poetry, it's been speaking to me and now I know why.

Maureen this is simply beautiful and brought about a *sigh* from me too!!  Please always continue to express your feelings through your poetry.. a poem without feelings is just words..  It is a gift to be able to express one's self this way and at times a virtual life save..  Beautiful hon - don't change a thing!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....
