Where is the daughter I prayed for... The pink bundle I longed for... The perfect child I can mold in my own image? Where is the curly-haired toddler who wouldn't leave my side... The daughter who thought I knew everything? Where is the kindergartener who cried when she left me... The student who would come rushing home to share her secrets with me... The young lady who made me so proud? Where has she gone and who has taken her place? This one knows everything and thinks I know nothing! This one, who closes herself up... Never talks, only screams. Where is the daughter I prayed for... The pink bundle I ached for? Unfortunately, she turned thirteen! Linda Tiuch She is 23 today, and a confident, self assured job seeker. A joy to love! Haha... I hade to laugh at the last part.. Great ending. We all have our own lives to live and 13 may be the start. I unfortantly have 4 boys, never a daughter. Just be mom and she will return to your love. LarBear |

Oh how well I know this one Linda!! At 13 I know they took my daughter one night and whoever they are left a creature in her place!! My goodness it was awful!!! They do come around eventually, this was excellent!! I share in your experience totally!! The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose...--Hada Bejar |

Oh Linda..so true, so true. My sweet little girl was traded for some devil's spawn, demon from hell...who turned out to be absolutely fabulous at 22. But the years I was without my darling child will always haunt me...where did she go? Hardrock |

Linda, I can relate here as well. My daughter, the sweet little darling, went away even earlier, and came back about 18. She is 27 now, and also a wonderful person, and a good friend, but not having a very good life Very nice poem, and I know you touched a lot of people with it. Sandra |
