Nothing Lasts Forever

awoke several times
this morning, last night
startled by your touch
your eyes watching
as i shifted in bed
positioning the warm body pillow
close to my face and breast
adjusting it to the length of me
mind words escaped
along with a tear
from the corner of my eye,
(unseen by you)
blinking hard, silently fighting back
i reached to increase the volume of the music
to drown out my thoughts
slowly rocking myself
as my eyes gradually closed
lay waiting 'til the light of morn
peeked throught the slats
calling to me
to begin a new day.

MM,

Swew.. I felt this pain envelope me. Man, so tearfull. I have done that though, and was I glad another day arrived. The darkness of the night can be at times so painfull.

Terrific poem!

You know, some nights I've had to drown out things so much, I have had the whole house rocking with Tchaikovsky... don't know what the neighbours think

I understand..sometimes it's the noise of my mind I need to silence and then sometimes it's the silence itself..hmmmmm me thinks I have a title in there somewhere
