Beyond the spaces of our lives
   lie accumulated loss,
either cutting us like knives
or lying dormant like the moss that grows on
      trees in frozen land,
How they shimmer in your hand like dying flame.
And any warmth that may remain
is just your dreams surrounding lies,
      living just beyond your eyes,
sleeping quietly denies that waking comes.
Beyond the shadows we have lived,
   beyond the yearning, aching mass,
seems that pain has kept its course,
coming toward us not to pass,
      but to tantalize our thoughts
         by waving never ending loss
beyond the spaces of our lives.

ya got my vote

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

Thank you so much. There is nothing like pouring your Heart out on paper. Sometimes if not most times, putting your "Heart" on paper helps you see yourself and where you are in this life. Thank you all for your words. And thanks again, Doreen. Now, I gotta go and start reading more of your words and expressions ! Thanks, Geoff

Thank you Janet Marie, I am moved that you actually take the time to write the verses you like on your response. With the way YOU write, your appreciation means a lot to me.
