You became my undeserved gift
Showing me your magical touch
Providing an angelic lift
Something I had needed so much

My heart like barren desert floors
Lying scorched under the orb of fear
You promised thunderous downpours
My soul quaking as the storms near

Fear I’ll break with  your touch so strong
That I’ll be lost within the storm
You soothe me with  hypnotic song
Within your eyes the storm clouds form

Dance of silver droplets begin
Steam rises as you touch me
Cool drops cover me like satin
My senses acute and running free

Scents of fire and rain fill the air
Lightening cuts the sky like a knife
Quenching thirst of need with sweet care
Showering my soul with love and life

As you move the heavens and earth
Passion calls with  thunder and light
I’m in awe of my own  rebirth
As the storm rages on with might

The torrent fills and soaks me through
With thunderous cries you delight
A net of light holds our love true
The heavens glow as we unite

Rain falls with hypnotic pleasures
Calling barren earth to join  you
Uncovering hidden treasures
Around  us desert flowers grew

You promised peace with the ending rain
I begged  you not to let me go
You said goodbye, we’d meet again
As you wrapped me with a rainbow

The tempest doth rage ,
and so do emotions...
Imagery is great.

WOW! I fear my words would not do justice to such a fine work as this. The title is perfect, and the words!....I felt every one. Just awesome my dear friend.

Breathtaking imagery, and a lovely poem...

I begged  you not to let me go
You said goodbye, we’d meet again

Hey Butterflies that is a real pretty poem.
I don't know who that storm was but it sounds like the desert soaked up a lot of needed attention.
Really good writing, enjoyed the read.
