Clouds hang low in the dull sky
Laden with emotions that pull them down
Raindrops fall as the world moves below
Forming puddles of sadness

Iced winds cut through seemingly still air
Ripping and weaving all around
Chilling everything that stands in its path
To the very core

And there I stand
Alone in the storm of nothingness
I long for the sun to come and warm me
So that my frozen soul may finally melt

I thought a little glimmer of gold would lighten my mood. I have just read every poem you posted today. And now I need a lift. They are fabulous poems. You have a talent for free verse it seems. Very good job, moonshine.
Now where's the humourous jokes forum.....???

well written with depth..
strong emotional imagery..
felt the chill of the cold rain
