The Codpiece A Lady chanced to catch my eye While I was in the square She wore the garb of peasants But golden was her hair I sped towards home to change my wear To put on all my best My codpiece seemed a little flat So with hose I stuffed the rest To the square I then did strut Larger than life, no doubt Hoping there to catch her eye Stuffed within and out I saw her there beside a stall Her eyes upon the ground But when she looked upon me Her eyes grew big and round Her look was bold and daring No longer looked she shy And when she dropped a curtsy I nearly poked her in the eye As she gave a rich and hearty laugh I thought, "Lord what have I done! This can't be the same innocent gel With hair bright as the sun." She took my hand and led me thence Into a vacant street And what there did transpire Is not fit to repeat Except that when she pulled my cod The hose fell to the ground And once again before me Her eyes grew big and round "Oh my most uncouth Lord It seems that you have lied, For that tiny little tadger Could never keep me satisfied!" Now I bring an end to this My personal lament I was a slave to fashion But my money is all spent So now I wear a ragged kilt 'Tis all I can afford A life which was filled with song Left me a sour chord I used to think a codpiece Could be a man's best friend But when I needed it the most It failed me in the end Alicat, the kilted Persnikitty As I sit here dimly thinking Watching modem lights a-blinking Churning out poetic hash. Lord, in all Your piety, Help me keep my sanity: Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat |

This cracked me up first time I read it, just as funny now! Eric. "We are the music makers and we are the makers of dreams." - Willy Wonka. |

Wonderful. Really put a smile on this face. Honestly, something of a bel.y-laugh too. Thanks for sharing even though Ron may have a problem putting it in his "G rated" book. Pete |

Enchantig and well done The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Amazing how quickly a girl's innocent look can change to lust, huh? This was great fun. Mike |
