Time Traveling through fallen dusk as if ears of corn the years we husk. Strings of ideas danced with time while the old brass church bell chimed. Close within the lurking future facial wrinkles begin to mature, yet far away from recent past youthful complexions fading fast. Holding tightly onto the reins not enough time to be embedded with pains. Wildly hoping for a slower pace would much rather be relaxing someplace. Clock ticking away the hours as weeds begin overpowering flowers. Children gather in cobblestone streets while others away on summer retreats. Remembering the days at swimming holes wearing bikini's for there were no rolls. Marching time has no compassion so it's up to us to follow the fashion. |

The passing of time has its advantages and definitely its disadvantages. I suppose we would all turn the clock back a few years if we could. Your poem captures that well! Denise |
