~Inspiration Interrupted~ Sunday's mornings innocence taken ... angry storms ruled the day. After all the shouting, there seems little left to say. As the dust settles from the fall out ... a deafening silence is left behind. Along with the hole punched in the wall, (a trophy to remind.) I can look at it from now on ... testimony to ( yet another ) failure on my part. Like the tears that stain my cheeks ... it serves notice to my heart. Somebody should tell you ... of the damage that you do. You can patch the dents in the walls, but can you fix the (ever widening) crack ... between me and you. Your reasons are unreasonable, I hope they keep you company. They say more than all your shouting ... as does the lack of apology. Where does patience go ... is it lost along with trust and respect. What will be left in time ... will there anything left to reflect. Like time ... I am growing old ... and all this pain makes me tired. Worst of all it takes away my poetry and leaves me uninspired. Im sick of having to explain it ... this is the one thing I shouldn't have to defend ... Poetry is inside of me ... and its all that will be left in the end. I don't know how to say it any clearer, Im still shaken by your insecure, jealousy. But, you had best just get used to it ... (from this point on) when you look at me ... all you should see ... is poetry. Janet Marie ******************* ~Tired~ Tabitha's Secret/Matchbox 20 You've been talking for an hour, and I swear to God that I can't hear a word you say But will you come to me, come to me I get caught up and the waves of conversation they wash over me And they cover me, they cover me Should I just pack my things and leave Would I be a bigger man if I Built a wall around your heart And dared you to come in I could lie to you And say I didn't mean it But hurts a funny thing, well it makes you stronger (chorus) All is nothing, in moderation It's a dirty feeling and it makes you stronger And I believe, I'm just plain tired There's a funny way your lip shapes, when I know that you've been lying And it touches me, it comforts me I guess I should be satisfied, did you say you love me half the time Well let's settle there, we can build from there Build from there Would you be happier if I, was only half the man I am You could shadow me, and dare me to come in I could lie to you and say I didn't mean it But it really doesn't matter, when you stop to think about it (chorus) The end is coming she don't even feel it It's a strange sensation, I'm almost happy And I believe, I'm just plain tired, I'm tired Should I just pack my things and leave Would I be a bigger man if I Built a wall around your heart And dared you to come in I can lie to you Say I didn't mean it But hurts a funny thing, hurts a funny thing The end is coming she don't even feel it It's a strange sensation, I'm almost happy And I believe, I believe I'm just plain tired [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 08-14-2000).] |

Oh baby...you too...I'm so sorry...why does it all have to be so complicated? And we both know...remember the e? My new motto? And for the uninitiated, it is two sentences, each composed of two words. The last is "Fire me." And I'll let ya guess what the first one is...smile...hugs to you m'twin, and I keep forgetting, which one of us is Thelma and which one Louise? |

Janet, you really shook me with this. As Mark said heartbreaking, and powerful. Take care! God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

It would be impossible for you to fake all the wonderful qualities that you possess Janet. These gifts that you share with us are from the depths of the heart, over and over again......So it would also be impossible for you not to share some of them with the person mentioned in this poem...When I think about it all this way I have a hard time to understand why you would not receive the respect due such a kindhearted and loving person. There is something wrong with the picture......could there not be a mutual agreement made time wise and other to allow you to do what you enjoy the most thus enriching your relationship with the satisfaction of unleasing your creative abilities, making the responsibilities you need to handle easier for both. You are very sensitive Janet and I know you are not hiding your feelings as I read this poem....I really and truly wish you the best and hope you can work this out. I do so enjoy your bright and cheery attitude and your loving responses. Your old poet pal from the north who loves ya dearly... |

) when you look at me ... all you should see ... is poetry. The pain drips from this.....they only have the power that we give them sweetie.....I think a very wise woman once told me that or pehaps it was a butterfly.....**angel wing hugs** for this one SS...I know it hurt...but you purge the pain gracefully...time to soar baby...time to soar~ |

JanetMarie~ I'm touched by this render ... and concerned that it is all too real. 'angry storms ruled the day.' 'Along with the hole punched in the wall, (a trophy to remind.)' Hang a frame around it and let it stand as is. 'I can look at it from now on ... testimony to ( yet another ) failure on my part.' Failure on WHOSE part ??? *I'll say it again - People only do to you what you LET them do ! Take back your self-esteem. Surrender it to no one ! Only you can assess the situation and make decisions that affect you ! You're in my prayers, lady. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I am on my 3rd attempt to reply to you all and I am DETERMINED to do so.. to each of you individually as these special replies and you deserve.. but until I can do so later tonite... (due to my comp probs)(need a new modem) please let me say I am sorry for worring anyone...it was not my intention.. and based on the sweet and concered E-mails I have received since posting this... I have done just that... I PROMISE you I am fine and this poem is not meant to be a "confession" of abuse... I am the type of person who has ZERO tolerence for it in anyway... I grew up with this in my childhood and I decided way back then... my adult life would not allow it in anyway and I would not let any one take my self respect away... OR MY POETRY... But I do so love you all for your concern and support. thanks guys... JM |

S'en ... yes, baby me too ...and you must know when you read this and saw the format I chose (officially known as serenity style) that it was influenced by your poem on the same subject...You know..I know....but I also know "they" need to get over it. thank you me sweet twin of heart...you always understand and inspire me love ya girl Mark ...Thank you my sweet friend...you DO reach out and touch me and you are my comfort and shoulder of understanding...I find much peace in knowing your there. Eagle ...TY my poetic friend....for all your support....thanks for letting me know how my words effect you...it helps me grow as a poet. John ... Welcome to passions new poet... I thank you for the wow.. and I too look forward to your work. Ethome ... dear sweet Lewis...what can I say to your amazing words here... you touch me so deeply with this reply...thank you for your concern and advice of compromise..you know me well my freind....by our poetry we are all connected and family...and I send my love and respect back north to you, my poetic pal Butterfly ... oh girl....so your gonna use my own words on me huh? LOL ok ok....i know take my own advice for a change... and I know that you know...thank you my dear SS..you are my quiet comfort..always. Margie....you need to be kissed for this reply ... and I want you to know several E-mails I received about this poem mentioned how sweet "moms" reply was... as you all here know me so well by now...you know when I write about emotions... it is always from my reality....If I dont feel it....I cant write it... you nailed my meaning intended for the line about failure... I was attempting to be sarcastic to the other persons perception of my "failure" And I promise you my self esteem is in well intact.. If for no other reason than ALL OF YOU here..who support and encourage me daily. thank you margie-gator...your words and concern touch me. you are the sweet wise mom-gator of passions... Corazon ... I know that you truly do know too...so many times I read "me" in your amazing poetry...TY my friend... Paula ... yes... I do know..and I thank you kind gator girl ... Corinne ... THANK YOU ...a "best" coming from you is a wonderful compliment. Martie ... it only hurts when I dont write ...but I do so love when you walk with me.. TY my sweet friend. Michael ... my special friend...you know before I even say it..TY my poet of heart.. and you take care for me too..Okay... Kathy .... thanks hon ....your so sweet to offer...and thanks for always reading and supporting my work...ty for the hugs too Tony ... you said all I needed to hear... Thank you gentle poet for the read and the kind words. Marina ... hey girlies glad your back...I missed ay...I'll e-ya soon... SO..where is my astronaut LOL I want to clarify ... yes this poem is about an angry moment...but it did not include physical abuse...verbal maybe...but that happens when people are not communicating on the same level. I needed to purge and vent the emotions...and I do that thru my poetry... some times seeing it wrote out and put to rhyme...makes it seem more than it was... but based in the replies and E-mails I got since posting this.. it lets me know many other poets go thru this same frustration.. WE are often consumed by our poetry...our need to write and read others.. and the constant desire for inspiration... Those in our lives who dont write and dont understand... well-- how do you explain it to someone who doesn't write ... thank you for touching me... and allowing me to touch you with my "emotional outbursts put to rhyme" love ya all... peace IN poetry JM< !signature--> There are places inside our souls - that have never been touched. There are places inside our hearts - that need to be loved this much. ~jm~ [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 08-14-2000).] |

JM, Oh what a powerful piece my friend. You say it all so well. Holes in the wall never solved anything for anyone. Never will. It is sad people have to go through this sort of thing. I am glad this is not a totally true story here. Great expression sweets. You are very strong indeed. Take Care, Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Janet this poem has lots of impact...like a fist thru the wall...please don't worry us like this..write a short explanation before or right after the poem...will you do that? If not what can I say....except oh no.. Janet is in a terribly complicated dangerous situation...you know if anyone says anything about this it's just because they care for you and they are concerned...anyway this is just my opinion...you write the way you like...and you know I dig it....James |

Dear, tender Janet Marie ... how powerfully you have expressed your emotions in these incredible poems, and in your heartfelt responses. I'm comforted to read your comments that you are OK, but WOW girl, you really floored me with the depths of your emotions here. It's so true ... poetry to those of us who need it's release cannot seem to be undertood by those who do not. Ahhhh but such sweet release it is, and I'm so thankful that we can share it here at Passions with those who DO understand! Wonderful writing JM! Best wishes, and take care of your heart sweet Poet, /Kit |

I don't know how I missed this one, actually it probably those long work hours. Jan, you know the effect your words have on me, how they seep beneath my skin and remain with me long after I have read your poems. When the subject is of a darker nature, personal pains, the effect is intensified 10 fold. And this one has dug deep hooks and anchor. Excellently written poem, keep an eye on your e-mail Eveagator. "Beyond all this good is the terror,The grip of a mercenary hand,When savagery turns all good reason, There's no turning back, no last stand,"I.Curtis |
