A hush
succumbs humbly
over the
passionate, humid ground
and a soundless breeze
threads through
the hills and meadows.
The quietness is beautiful
and still
giving one time to
think of the past,
present
and
tomorrow.

Memories,
movements and
dreams
fill the heart
and mind
with many a
serene
hope.

The darkness grows
and with it,
a silent humbleness.
Lulled solitude
as one realizes one is alone

~ in this world of darkness ~

~ the night ~

Yet,
one is not alone,
as the
breeze strengthens
and whips
the sounds of crickets
chirping
to your ears.

The howling of dogs
as they bay
at the moon
gives one an eerie feeling

and the warm Earth
finally gives
her spirits
its sleep,
the
quietness
turns still,
the coolness
of the dark
heavens
having
fallen
d
o
w
n
ward.

All sleep.
